And Summer begins!

Summer is here at last! We had temps in the 90's last week. Hooray for warm weather! Although by midweek it was in the 50's again. :) Colorado always keeps us on our weather toes, that's for sure!
For Memorial Day we went to my sister's home and had a bbq with friends and played kickball in the park across the street. Us Meyers women know how to cook. Here we are making fabulous salads for the spread.

The boys needed hair cuts as they were making Shaggy look conservative. When I asked Jordan how he wanted it cut (which is always funny because I don't have that much skill to take requests. It ALWAYS turns out different. Usually nice, but different that what they expected!) he settled on just a buzz. Here's the before. . .

And here's the after! He is taller than me now, and such a nice, helpful, handsome guy!
We forgot to get Ben's before pic, so here is the after. Many people have commented on how much older he looks now sans his moppy curls! Of course, his fly-catching pose doesn't help. :)
With warm weather comes yard work! We removed a 20-30 foot tree from the right edge of this garden plot. It took an entire day and the efforts of half our neighbors. Thank goodness for good neighbors! One lent a hand saw, another an axe, another twine, another a chain-saw and then manpower from all! Now we have cucumbers and greenbeans planted against the fence and squash and lettuce in the middle. Yippe for veggies in the yard! Now if only the deer will keep away from them!

The kids are loving the warm weather and take almost every chance to bask in the warmth. Here's a Sunday morning. Even Frosty likes the sunshine!

Though he didn't much care for being the object of Casey's and Ben's entertainment. :)

He also doesn't appreciate the rain gear he has to don for inclement weather. :) Our little red riding hood. LOL - But he matches his handsome handler!

I've got lots more to blog, but I need to get off to work. Here's a tidbit of one of my latest projects. . .
and
I'll post more on that later.
