They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. Well these windows make our eyes happy. :)

After a very cold, and very expensive winter we realized we needed new windows. 7 companies and salesmen later we chose our dealer. It is AMAZING how much cooler the house is now. Because Colorado is so cool we don't have airconditioning. With the new windows they really block out the heat from the afternoon sunshine. I have to open the windows in my bedroom to feel the heat of the sun when I study!
Here are Ben and I looking out of the window opening as they take away the original window. It's pretty cool to see how they replace them. They use kinda of a small chainsaw to cut all around the window, then carefully take it out. Clean it up, then put in the new one, filling any gaps with foam insulation. Our windows were custom made so the gaps were VERY minimal. They also filled the gaps under our window sills which should provide even more insulation in the winter.
I had them save the windows as I am dreaming about building a greenhouse with them. I have two guys I am working on design plans with. We'll see how the job situation pans out before starting anything. In all we had 31 windows replaced. It was a LOT. Here is Jordan showing the spacious view from the living room. You don't realize how much a window really opens things up until it's gone!
This is our family room. Mark and Kelly debated just not replacing the windows here at all - it seemed so much bigger! I however just thought how cold it would be in the winter. :)

Frosty also liked the new windows. He's all about the sunshine. :)

The top picture is our home now. We have 3 more windows that need to be replaced that are on order. It's so nice to have this project nearly finished! Luckily the installation only took 3 days. The last 3 windows will be installed in half a day. Thank goodness!
