My apologies for not writing in a while. Life has a way of getting busy! Here are some odds and ends of our days lately.
First, I think my kids are testing their architectural design skills with our dishes. Can you pack this many dishes into the bottom rack of your dishwasher??? What's even more amazing - it looks like they will all get washed - no blockings! Yep. My kids have skills.

My sister, Kelly is a delegate in the Republican party here in Colorado. She invited me to the state assembly this past Saturday. It was pretty awesome to see democracy at work. The process was amazing. Now my goal is to go to a Democratic asssembly and see what is the same and what is different! After living overseas in Semi-socialist, Communist and Muslim nations my heart was swollen with thankfulness at this freedom and process we have to let our voices truly be heard. Thanks for the invite Kelly!
This is Kelly and you can see just some of the crowd from 2,500 delegates and 64 counties from across the state.

Marcus has the coolest summer job! He works up on Pikes Peak (A picture of Pikes Peak is at the top of our blog.) making high-altitude doughnuts (special recipe due to the altitude), cashering and other food-service duties. He really loves his job. This is a picture of his first day at work. He's got a great attitude. He had a winning suggestion that they give samples of the broken doughnuts -covered in fudge - to the customers waiting in line. What a great idea - it reduces waste and promotes product! He also had a quick comeback when folks would complain of the prices - "The food here has no calories because of the altitude - we have to charge more for that!" This week he had a day of work that was cancelled due to high winds and snow drifts that closed access to the Peak. Weather drives a lot of their business !

I'm loving spending time with my sister. It's so nice to live so close. It's the first time in my married life I have lived this close to any family. A few weeks ago Kelly and I went for a hike and then to dinner afterwards. We went to a kitchsy little local town called Manitou. I really want to go to this shop there. How cool! Can't you just see Daniel Radcliff (Harry Potter) frequenting this shop?
This is where we went for a hike. Red Rock Canyon open space. Very cool.

Benjamin finished up football a week or so ago. At this game Jordan and Mark got to hold the markers.

Isn't that the cutest football player you've ever seen? Ben's coaches loved it when he tackled someone. At practice they'd stand over the tackled kid and shout with glee, "You've been B.Friended!!"

Jordan is almost done with the school year and Mark and I got to watch them tape an episode of their tv show. Here Mark and Jordan are sitting at the anchor's desk while they ready for the next shoot. Mark and Jordan practiced reading from the prompters like naturals.

That's it for now. Thanks for tuning in. Till next time!
