I'm in Hong Kong now and I PROMISE I will write more on the blog about it later. I am taking pictures of fun stuff, but I forgot my card reader at home!
Paula and I went and bought pearls for my mom today. And for me. Then we went to "Ladies Street" which is actually 4 or 5 streets full of outdoor stands. We were looking for stuff for her 72-hour kit. We passed that store 3 times before we found it! We had lunch at a local 'restaurant' and somehow ordered our meal without being able to speak Cantonese. There were no prices for anything, and the 'menu' was all in Chinese! I went to the window where the cook was preparing the food and pointed. Then went back and pointed some more. Yum! We had wide rice noodles beef meatballs and shrimp wonton. Sooo good. It cost us a total of 54 HK dollars. That's about $8. for both of us! We then went and helped to shop for the conference luncheon. Now I'm finishing homework. Fun - the fun never ends!
Really, I am enjoying my time with my friend Paula Tsoi. I am missing my kids and hubby, but it's good for them and me to have a break.
Pictures will come next week. Promise.
Oh yeah, since I'm in Hong Kong I have to 'read' Chinese to sign in. All the instructions and sign in are in Chinese! Good thing I have done this for a while and know what I'm supposed to be looking at!
