Hong Kong!

The skies to Hong Kong. Beautiful.

Alan and Paula took me to Kowloon for seafood.

We entered the 'street' and walked past shop after shop, filled with tanks of all kinds of fish.

We entered a very nice restaurant. (That's Alan Tsoi on the right.)

It was Chinese-run so the food was guaranteed to be good. You can tell they're Chinese By the temple in the restaurant.

Soon we were beckoned to "pick our fish."

Alan told me these "Bamboo clams" were delicious. They were put on the list. In the back is an "elephant clam." It didn't look too enticing so didn't make our list.

Alan picked out the bottom red fish. They were supposed to be yummy.

Here is our red fish, awaiting his fate and our dinner!

These are like shrimp, but about 6 inches long and 2 1/2 inches long. They went on the list.

Squid! This squid must have been nervous because he was inking. See the squid-skid marks! Squid was added as a free bonus to our list. I don't know if it was the skid-maker or not. But it was good!

Paula and the shop matron. This is one of the lobsters that was chosen for our dinner. I'll put more on the actual dishes later. It's getting late now.

This is our lunch while shopping. A local vendor suggested it. No English, and my Chinese reading is rustly. They only spoke Cantonese, so my Mandarin was useless. So, I just looked into the cooking area and pointed! We had wide noodles with beef meatballs. (Bottom right.) Middle right were wontons. They were the biggest wontons I've ever seen! They had shrimp and something else in them. Top right is my soup after adding chiles and vinegar. It would have been excellent without them, but those are traditional additions and plus they are yummy! Our entire meal was HK$54 (that's US $7.7) for both of us!!

These are some of the sights of Hong Kong. Barack Obama is advertising for a daily paper. (I wonder how much he got paid for that? : ) ) The signs and high rises are everywhere. A sign to gamble responsiblity. A dog at the Jade Market. The "Jordan" stop on the subway! And what I think is a gambling thingy that alot of the shop vendors had and paid a lot of attention to.

More later! You should be able to click on the pictures and see them bigger.

I have no idea how you did it! I can't see my food before I eat it. Just the pictures alone are making me gag.

How long have you lived in Asia?!!! You should be totally able to look your meal in the eye by now!! Besides, those were zoo-type pictures! No need to be squeamish - yet! Wait until you see the fish cooked! It's got teeth! LOL
