We are adjusting to Mark being gone. I only start to miss him after about a week and a half. The kids - they just continue on being goofballs. Nevertheless it's a good practice for his upcoming 6-monthdeployment.
The weather is changing and we are expecting our first snow/slush of the season. I took this pic while on a walk with Jordan to send to Mark. Beautiful, isn't it! Jordan made the comment that Pikes Peak looks like it's getting bigger with the cooler weather. This is a nice shot as it has snow on it. With our winds there's no snow on the Peak now. Bummer.

Remember a previous post about Casey's lack of shoes? Somehow they are coming out of the closet now, and parking themselves in my living room under her desk. Arghh!! She painted some of them green, and thought it was so cool.
On Saturdays we do a deep-cleaning of the house. This Saturday I took the kids out to lunch afterward, on the understanding they had to finish before 1. They did. Benjamin also had homework to critique a restaurant. I wanted to try this restaurant that I had been to with work. They are famous for guess what? A hamburger that is a meal all to itself! Conway's Red Top has several locations in the Springs. The burgers were yummy and big! But the patty is thin so you aren't too stuffed when you eat half of one. I kinda like this going out to lunch on Saturdays. Afterward we went to Costco. I shopped for supplies for Mark and sent the kids off in teams to collect the rest of items on our list. It was great! Maybe I'll make it a tradition while Mark is gone! Sure beats shopping alone.

Saturday night I went out with Kelly and friends to a movie. When we came home Ben and Cody were playing cards. Mark was still up so I sent this to his phone so he could see what his 11 year old was doing at 10 at night!

Mark was still up at 10 (12 his time) because he was staying with his Dad at the hospital. Grandpa Friend won't be with us much longer, but we are so thankful for the time we have had with him. Here he is this past summer with Casey and cousin Abby.
