Our dog Frosty is so smart. When he's done being outside he comes up the deck stairs and waits at the back door for us. He won't go up or down stairs unless it's the deck. Just thought you should know. :)
Because Halloween was on Sunday we did not trick or treat. We also didn't think it was fair to hand out candy when we got none, so I asked Casey to make a sign, thereby alleviating the burden of ringing our doorbell for those that did choose to trick or treat. I saw Casey's sign this morning. What do you think? Did they get the message?
Benjamin was inspired by our neighbor's tombstones and created this one all by himself. I don't think he likes Justin Bieber.
Because we "Chose the Right" our big brother blessed us. He went to WalMart at midnight (you can't go to the store on the Sabbath! But after midnight it's not the Sabbath anymore.) and got his righteous siblings some Halloween treats. When at the register the cashier told him it was all half off he promptly went back and doubled his blessings/loot!
Benjamin does not look forward to waking early and walking Frosty in the dark. When Marcus handed him his bag of goodness Ben first dropped the bag on the ground (it was heavy!) and then happily walked the dog so he could get his treats! Here he is at the breakfast table going through the treasure. He wanted to bring the heart to school to use it for the Pledge of Allegiance. Ben ate breakfast in record time this morning. Usually he takes about 20 minutes to eat toast and juice. This morning he wanted to see his candy. So for every bite I would take out 2 pieces of candy. When he finished I emptied the bag on the table. He was done in 1.5 minutes flat. A record!
When Ben got home he wanted to see what his heart was made of. We knew it was a gummy, but did it have juice in the middle? Was it hollow? What flavor was it? What to do? What to do?
Stab it maniacally. Of course!!!
Or dissect it evilly?
Or have your big brother cut a chunk off while you're deciding.
Jordan screams, "Don't break my heart!!"
Too late. Mom arrives with a screech and cuts the heart in half. So heartless! (It's solid gummy btw.)

We went to a neighbor's house and handed out candy while eating squash soup. It was delish!
Then I let Abby go to about four houses where we knew people to trick or treat. I guess our ward is pretty evil because we all went out. I just considered it 'visiting' with a costume. There were over a 1,000 kids that dropped by for candy.
It's amazing how everyone knows where the American's live on Halloween!
Love you (and all your righteousness).
That Marcus is the nicest brother ever....I think Jordan will take up the role next. We found Benjamins stash, BTW, there was some good stuff left in it (Butterfingers)!
