We have arrived!!!!
I was greeted on the first leg of my journey by clean Chinese people, armed with thermometers...
Then I hooked up with Marcus, who had spent the previous week with his bud, Nick. You'd never know by the happy looks on their faces that their average bedtime for the past week was 2am.
In San Francisco we did the math and finally realized there was NO WAY Mark and the kids would meet us there. Here is the email that greeted us at Kelly's:If you haven't noticed yet, we did not meet you in San Fransico. Thats because we were suppose to fly Tuesday night at 1020 and not Wednesday night at 1020. Both of us misread the tickets and Hasni didn't explain very well what the itinerary was. Anyway, Hasni saw me in the embassy and redid the tickets so we could fly out tonight, since we missed out flight last night. Remember me saying how it didn't make sense that we were leaving 24 hours after you but we were supposed to hookup in San Fran? I was right, but didn't read the ticket correctly. Figures. No sense in getting upset. Its actually a blessing because I wasn't cleared yesterday. We arrive at Colorado Springs on 2 Jul at 5:05 PM on United flight 6440.
See you then.
See you then.
Upon final arrival in Colorado Springs the heavens greeted us.

The kids loved Kelly's dogs immediately. Here's Marcus playing with Jade and Goose.

The 4th of July in America! Things couldn't get better. Well, a little less rain and a little more warmth could have helped. But we weren't complaining - We were in AMERICA!

After the bbq some went to the church to play volleyball. Logan wore his hockey pants to assist in diving. I think he looks so tough!
We went to the Air Force Academy for the fireworks. It was COLD! Even the natives wore coats! We wore several. :)
Alas, jet lag was still our foe, even with armaments blasting. We were near a little kid that was very excitable and excited to see the fireworks. At first his mom started to walk a little closer to the show, he screamed, "Mom! Don't go! I don't want you to die!!!!!" Then she explained the safety to him. He settled down. Later he announced, "This is the best day of my life!!!" He then commented on the "worms" and "sneak attacks" that were occuring with the fireworks. It was pretty funny. After the fireworks the kids sled down the muddy hill (Kelly tried greasing the sleds with Crisco and Pam, but the grass was too wet and that soon wore off), some ran down, and most fell down.
We are enjoying being back in America and are very thankful to Kelly and her family for their wonderful hospitality. We are still having adventures and look forward to sharing them with you still! Look forward for next week and hail in July!

Back at the ranch, nothing keeps a kid (or teenager) busy better than sidewalk chalk! Casey is testing out the 3D glasses that came with them. (In Malaysia they only had 1D chalk.)
Jordan and Logan found another use for chalk, the tramp and games!

haha, i love that you guys were wearing coats on the 4th of july. if it makes you feel better, half of us had the FLU. but it made me laugh to still see mark in his shorts & sandals, even with a coat. that's dedication.
Oh my goodness! What a journey!! Welcome back!! :)
