Just a funny I had to share...
Mark got a call the other night from a lady at church. It seems she wanted Mark to give her a "Christian" name. She is Chinese -we think.
So - Mark, my diligent husband has been thinking and pondering and agonizing over a name for this sweet sister. He tosses out a few and I knock them down. "It must be simple and easy for the Asian environment she lives in" I counsel him.
Meanwhile she is calling and messaging him asking him if he's chosen one yet. It's been less than a day.
He finally settles on one about 48 hours later. Rebekah. Symbolic, beautiful, strong. More messages from her. We're having scripture reading, then cleaning up before bed so Mark doesn't answer his messages. It's probably just her commenting on her new name. It's a good name.
I get a phone call from a number I don't recognize. It's the sister! I ask her what her name is - trying to give that message to Mark. She beats around the bush (barely speaking English) and tells me he has messaged her that her name is Rebekah. May she speak to him? Sure!
Mark gets on the phone. She doesn't like the name!! LOL ROFL! Could he please make a list of some "modern Christian" names? Thanks but no thanks, you've failed in the naming job. I'll do it myself thank you she seems to be saying. LOL
So, my dear husband is now looking for new names for this sweet sister to pick from. Last I looked he had a list with Astrid, Lars and the like. I suggested Lakeesha. : ) So much for simple!! LOL
