First in the "small" bathroom renovation I had to have a new circuit put in the bathroom to handle the heated floor. This is the hole in my garage roof. The new owners now have access to the garage attic. Mike (sister's husband) framed it for me so it looks pretty.
This is the old floor and yucky tile that is cold! Turns out I had 3, count them 3, outside walls to my bathroom. Got to be I hated to leave the shower late at night, for fear of the floor.
Here is my demolition crew. It was a great Family Home Evening night - tearing apart my bathroom floor. The kids became accomplished in the use of hammers, crowbars and chisels. A few flathead screwdrivers sadly ended their lives that night.
Our tile installer said the kids did a great demob job!
They installed the wire for the heated floor first. This is what it looks like.
Here's a close up of the hooks they hooked it on. It's pretty simple. I could do the next floor.
After the warmwire they poured self-leveling concrete type stuff over it.
For the vent areas they built ledges around them to prevent the concrete from running down into the vents.
The first pic I get from our tile guy - the floor is looking beautiful!!!
After the tile is finished I ask Jordan and Ben to put the baseboards back - and see if they fit - or were they damaged too much. Take a look - see if they fit or do I need to replace them. They willingly obliged. I hear banging. Hmm, I told them NOT to nail anything, just put them beside the wall. I guess they're just helping me.
Studded baseboards are the new rage now in home-improvements Don'tcha know.

Mike helps me save the baseboards. The walls are painted, the trim is painted and caulked. All remnants of construction after 2 months are removed. This is a bathroom to love!
