We're having a great time in Colorado!!
Jordan discovered Geo - cacheing. It's where someone hids something (the cache) and then posts the coordinates of it online. The others must find it. Once found, you take something from the cache, replace it with something else and then sign a booklet with your name. Mark downloaded the software for it on his nifty new iPhone and the 'boys' have had a great time searching for caches. This is Benjamin with his first find.
Ah, the beauty of school shopping - in a real-live-store!! I was so happy Casey liked these Avril Lavigne pants! I love them! Doesn't she look cute! We went last night to a late-night shopping sale at Kohl's and got the boys some great stuff, then this morning Casey and I headed out.
Casey didn't go with us last night because she went on a 20-mile hike with the youth at church. She got the "manliest" award 'cause she was 4th of all the youth in finishing! They finished at about 1am and then went out to Village Inn for food. After that Casey got to indulge in yet another great American teenage tradition - TPing! But, they were so tired they just left the roll of TP and a note, "We were too tired to TP you after the hike" on the front step of a few houses. :)

Kelly had a birthday!!! Logan insisted she have the appropriate number of candles. Yes, Kel had to take a really deep breath to get them all out! (Mark calls this her Angelina Jolie picture).

This is a hike/walk route just out Kelly's front door. What a beautiful view of Pike's Peak!

With the great Colorado weather we need jackets! I took this pic and sent it to Marcus at work, so he could decide what color he wanted. He chose all black, and loves it.
I love Costco!! I have to go about once a week to get my fix. I was so happy this week because we got Mark reading glasses - 3 pair for under $20! Big deal you say, but for us, it is. We have had to pay at least $50 a pair for the past 6 years because they were custom made. It is so nice to go to Costco and pick up a 3-pack. I know, cheap thrill, but it is a thrill all the same - for me!
Just in case you think I look at everything with rose-colored glasses, I do! Another aspect of Americana that we have missed for the past 6 1/2 years is door-to-door salesmen. (Actually we had 2 carpet salesmen come by the house in KL, and a few gas-tank regulator sales guys, but we won't count them - they couldn't speak English - so their sales were totally ineffective. :) )
We've had a few sales guys stop by Kelly's house since we have been here. The other day we had a Kirby vacuum cleaner guy stop by. He would do a room for free. After he was done with the demo he could go home for the day. Okay, we can always use a good vacuum and wash of the carpets. 2 1/2 hours later they finished. The goal was 100 of these circles, showing us what they got from the carpet, in one room! I stopped him at 86. Dinner was ready and I was hungry. Kelly wasn't happy I had invited them in. No, we weren't tempted to buy their $2,000 vacuum, impressive though it was. The kids and Mark joked, if we had bought the vacuum they would have cleaned up the circles. LOL
Last. I know, the pic is upside down. Please do what you need to see it right-side up. I suggest you click on it and open it its own window to see it bigger too. Then you can stand on your head and see it better. :) This is a pic from the kids' highschool cafeteria! What a beautiful natural frame the window creates for Pikes Peak! I'm so jealous that Casey and Jordan get to see this everyday!
