Keeping busy in November.

There was a cooking expo in D.C. I volunteered so that I could get free tickets and an apron. When I went for setup, I met a vendor whose entire crew was stuck in New York because of Super Storm Sandy. I offered to help her. This is her booth. These are awesome chips. We handed out samples for 6 hours straight! Ben went with me and was an amazing help. As a thank you we got four cases of chips! I've kept in contact and will help her next year at the DC Expo again. It was a great experience.

Our church sent out word on Saturday night for donations of warm clothes and blankets for the people of New York. On Monday night this is what showed up.

About 150 people, and 5 truckloads later, we had a great turnout on Monday night!

There were many donations, many brand new.

I got to direct the incoming loads. Drivers drove up to the church, the youth unloaded their cars, and the drivers drove on. A drive-through donation center!  We had a mountain of clothes like this 4 times that evening. After dumping the clothes they were then sorted, boxed and put on trucks.

The pumpkins met their final demise...

We went shopping for Christmas decorations for Mark.
Here are some of the hats that we were deciding on. :)

This is the one we ended up sending. Mark loved it!
