So I really did mean stuff.
I do love the fact that I have a camera on my phone. It allows me to take pictures of things quickly. Annnnd, you get to see lots of stuff!
So I got this cool speaker. That's it right in the middle of the stove. The hockey puck looking thing. It's bluetooth. Jordan is connecting his phone to it. We use it in the kitchen to listen to music and Pandora while we're cooking or doing dishes.
It's great.
So great in fact that we no longer have it in our kitchen. Jordan takes it to work to listen to. :) One of the coolest things about it is that it uses reflection to create sound. Depending on the surface, it has different sounds. Wood - not so good. Metal. Good. Glass, great. The wall. Pretty good.
When I first showed it to Jordan he was doing dishes. 20 minutes later no dishes had been done, because he was trying ALL the surfaces out. Jordan likes to know how things work. :)
So Valentine's day was this month. I do hope you had a nice one. I saw this 'cake' at the grocery store and just HAD to show it to people. . .
A Rose by any other name...
I'm now a pretty good fire starter. I used to have to have Mark start it for me. But now I can not only start it, but I can adjust that flue like there's no tomorrow! This was my first successful fire.
2 previous fires that morning didn't make it. :(
I'd say they went up in flames, but then they would have been successful, wouldn't they? :)
This is Frosty.
He likes Pizza.
Here he's saying, "Heeeeeyyyyy Mom!"
"I like pizza!"
"I like pizza!"
More stuff.
I warned you.
Since Casey moved out we needed a couch for the new game room. The loveseat in the basement really didn't hold a lot of people when we watched a movie. I wanted to get an L-shaped couch. Low and behold we found this on the side of the road! Really! (My sister, Kelly, would say here that I should just go buy a darn couch and quit picking up rejects!) But - it's for the basement. It's SUPER comfortable. It was free. It's leather. There's only one small rip in it. My other sister (one of them) is going to help me recover the seat cushions. It's awesome!
And - because we had to move my treadmill to fit it, I got a tv for my treadmill!
Also, we almost got this couch stuck TWICE trying to get it in the house. :)
For those of you who know Jordan you know he's the nicest kid. He hardly ever complains. He hardly ever expresses a want. He has many, many times given things up for the betterment or comfort of others. We're truly blessed with him.
So - on with the story. When we moved to Colorado Jordan got a phone for his birthday. A nice phone (nicer than what I expected - Dad took him and didn't understand the pricing - but that's another story...) A few months later Mark lost his job. We down-sized and as a result Jordan's phone ended up with Marcus. Marcus liked the phone. Marcus used the phone and it was well-used, and eventually cracked.
When we got back on our feet and moved to Virginia Marcus bought a new phone. Jordan got his old phone back. It wasn't very nice anymore. So- AT&T was having a sale. Jordan was blessed. He got a new phone. A phone he loves. A phone his Dad loves! A phone even his mom kinda likes. But most of all, I love that Jordan got something nice. Just for Jordan. :)
A lot of nights it's just Ben and I at home. Some nights it's even just me! But enough about me. Ben and I decided to make waffles for his breakfast. Here we are. This is the 3rd time we waited with baited breath and the camera on to film our Wednesday night excitement.
I hope you go to the bathroom before you watch this clip.
I'd hate for you to have an accident. :P
