What to do when a husband leaves

Some of you are aware that Mark took a job with Lockheed Martin a month ago. The job is in Virginia and the rest of the family is here in Colorado. It's been a lot rougher on me than I ever imagined it would be. Hence my lack of posting.
Anyways, the Lord has seen fit to keep me busy - aka missing Mark less. Here are some of the busy-doings that I have been up to.
First, we taught Ben how to weed-wack. I certainly was not doing it! I'm a mower, not a wacker. :) Ben wanted to learn, as he thought mowing was too much work. After his lessons were finished (thanks Marcus!!) Ben decided that mowing was easier. :)

When Mark was home and things needed repairing I would just add it to his "Honey-Do" list. Now that he isn't here it falls on me. I'm not one to let things sit and wait. The faucet was leaking at the base so I endeavored to find out what was wrong and repair it.

Note to future plumbers - 10 year old boys are the perfect size to fit under a kitchen sink! This saves you from lying on your back and having gunk fall into your eyes. Plus, as an added bonus Benjamin now has real-life Mario skills!

After 2 trips to the hardware store this is our new kitchen faucet! With the aid of Marcus and Ben we got it in with very few glitches. Logan switched the hot and cold pipes to the proper sides the following day for us. :) What can I say? It was a family endeavor!

Woah! Scary Casey face!

So, what else would keep me busy? I know, move all the furniture in two rooms!!

This was because the previous owner had cats, who had successfully peed through the padding. After trying to clean it 4 times we succumbed to the fact we would have to replace the carpet. Experts told me to paint the sub-flooring with Kilz to prevent possible smells from coming back, and to protect it from future pet accidents. Luckily the sub-flooring was stain and smell free. So, we removed carpet, staples, padding and double-coated the living room.
This was done on Monday. Carpet was to be installed on Tuesday. That almost didn't happen but a great carpet salesman drove all the way to Denver and picked it up for us, allowing us to have it installed that Tuesday instead of the following week!
The new carpet is soft. Benjamin tested it the next morning.

The first night with new carpet Casey, Jordan and Benjamin wanted to sleep on it, it was so soft. I forbid them from using the light because of previous rug burns. :)

The new office. I love the brown carpet! I also destroyed my old office desk and so there is now much, much more room!

The new living room carpet. It's like a new home!

A list without pictures of other busy work:
Fixed the washing machine.
Fixed the garage door.
Fixed the toilet.
Called the repairman for the ovens.
Tried and failed to fix the computer.
Ordered a new computer.
Will replace the garbage disposal tomorrow.
What next? Really. I'm not missing Mark anymore. PLEASE stop sending me busy work!
:)
