Another Birthday for Us!

September 28, 2008 Happy Birthday to Benjamin!

Happy Birthday to Benjamin!

Happy Birthday dear Benjamin,
Happy Birthday to Benjamin!

We are blessed with 2 birthdays in September in our family. (And even more in our extended family!)

Going with our "fun" theme that began with Jordan, Benjamin got some good ol' fashioned fun items for his celebration.
First we had his favorite dinner. Pizza. Because his day was on Sunday we didn't order, but instead Casey and Marcus made it! (Mom helped with the crust.) There was no pepperoni, as we haven't received any from Japan yet. Yes, Japan. We can't get regular pork pepperoni here. It being a Muslim country and all. Our Dominoes pizza comes with either beef Pepperoni or Chicken Pepperoni. We prefer beef, but it's still not the same. Every few months we order about 15 packages of regular pepperoni from the military commissary in Japan, then wait a couple of weeks for it to be delivered. Oh yes, we can't wait to move back to good ol' America! Here is a pic of almost all the pizzas. We still had two in the oven, but were hungry and decided to start without them.

Afterwards we gave Ben his presents. Again with the big boxes!

The first box we thought was a shovel, then a really bad shovel. Then we saw the second one. Stilts!!

Next was bubble wrap. All good things come in bubble wrap, didn't you know?!

A pogo stick!! Only problem, Ben's not heavy enough! He's about 20 lbs shy of the required minimum weight. LOL.

Both these are for Ben and his Circus Arts after school activity. He'll do both of these in a circus. Ben is hoping Marcus gets to be ringmaster again, like he was last year.

Jordan decided to try out the Pogo stick for Benjamin, since he is a littler heavier. Here is video of both of them at their new trades. What's that song,"He ain't heavy, he's my brother." :)

Benjamin also got an electronic thing for his birthday, an email address!! He is very happy now to get accounts on some of his favorite games. Here he is putting in contacts of his brothers and sister.

Last video. I told you previously that the kids don't mind doing dishes now as long as they can listen to their music. Here is a perfect example. Our Casey not only loves to listen but to sing! We love our happy Casey!

Can you figure out what kind of 'cake' Ben wanted for his birthday. Send me your guesses. I'll tell you if you're right!

I/m thinking ala pumpkin "pie/cake"?? with all the fixins... Love casey singing... and you aren't evil... just filling the file with many unforgetable moments that can be used for casey's wedding reception years from now! I love the pogo stix and stilts... cool cool cool! how neat to say you were part of a circus!.... TWICE! with your brother as the ringmaster!!... ooo ooo I chose fire-swallowing, being shot from the cannon and lion taming...as my stunts waaahooooo!

I am definitly thinking pumpkin. That is so cool you put some video on. And a candid moment like that of Casey is classic. She is such a cute girl. I remember how fun pizza night is with you guys I totally understand about the whole pepperoni thing since we tasted it Malaysia style. Tell ben we said Happy birthday.

You are all correct!! Good guessers! When he told me what he wanted for his cake I thought, "What?!" But went ahead and planned to make it. Later I realized that Jordan had asked for the same thing last year! Man that Benjamin has a memory!

The stilts and pogo stick are awesome. This morning I heard 'boing-boing-boing' in my living room! Then I heard "40! Beat that Jordan!" It was Casey! Jordan did beat it, and then lost count around 60 because he was doing 'high jumps'. In my living room. Yes, I got it on video. Me - being a bad mom and allowing pogo stick contests in my living room!

Ben loves his stilts. He slung them over his shoulder this morning and took them to school to show his circus teacher. Jordan wanted to take the pogo stick but I didn't think that would go well in high school. :)
