Jungle Trekking in the Treetops

For our Spring Break we decided to stay in KL and see the sights and adventures around us. Mark and I took off from work and away we went!

First on our list of to-do's was Sky-Trekking. That's jungle-trekking in the trees! This is us all decked out ready to begin. The ladder you see behind us is our first obstacle. You are seeing only 1/4 of the ladder. It was tall!!

Our instructor was a cool French dude named Julian who showed us how to safely hook ourselves into the rope lines of the trees. It was kinda funny to be instructed by a thick French accent in the jungles of Malaysia, but - he knew his stuff!

While we got into our gear Benajmin had to be tested to make sure he wouldn't fall out of his harness. Having done this trek previously with the Young Men at church, he was an old hand at just 'hangin' out'.

Jordan and his friend, Avery were raring to go! (Monkeys that they are!)

Casey is so brave these days. She will try almost anything that previously she was terrified of. That includes the "Flying Fox" or zip line. I asked her if she would just try one, and she agreed. Little did we know that almost 1/3 of the course was zip lines! The longest zip line was the last obstacle. It was 100 meters (300 feet)! She tackled it like a pro! (All of her pics are on her Facebook, and she won't send me any, so you'll have to go to her site to see her.)

Me, I LOVE this kind of stuff! Mom's don't often get a chance to get their adrenaline flowing!

When we were done with our 3 hours of Tarzan life, we had great stories to tell, of how we survived in the wilds...

And of how we zipped through the jungle, at the speed of a zip-cord!

Here's a link to our destination, and a video of the last, great ride.
