October. Finally!
In October we began the first month of Mark's deployment. That means more dinners out! Often times it is just Ben and I, sometimes just me. But, we do try to treat Jordan to dinner out too. Here we are playing a game of football at our local diner. I won. :)
October brought new body parts for me. (Don't you wish you could change your body parts to the newest version!) I am in a clinical trial for the new artificial pancreas. The top is the DexCom 7. The bottom is the DexCom 4, not yet available in the U.S. It's amazing how much nicer the smaller Dex4 is. Color is cool. It's shape was apparently based on the iPod Nano. I like it a lot. I'll get to keep it for 3 months while they track me and try to develop algorthims for the artificial pancreas. Yes. I love being in trials! (Note: The Dex 4 came out in November in the U.S.)
See how much thinner the 4 is? Don't mind the paperwork mess on my desk. :)
We are upgrading our furniture. Jordan got this sweet bed. Craigslist. I love it!
Marcus. Film School. Nuff said.
Jordan helped disassemble his bed, then reassemble it. He is most handy.
Benjamin benefitted from the upgrading. We called him the Prince (and the pea) with all his mattresses. It made nightly prayers a stretch. :)
Jordan and his new bed and blue cave underneath. Benjamin - ever the little brother.
Frosty often wonders if the attention is really worth it.
Kelly came to visit before our Sisters Retreat. This picture was sent to taunt relatives. :)
It was yummy!
The four of the five oldest girls. My we had fun! Yes, I know I'm not in the picture. I'm taking it. Hot soapy water does not bode well for electronic body parts. But hey, my parts beep. Do yours? :)
Kimmy had lil Mo (Jonathan Andrew) on 10-11-12! We are so happy for her and Ryan. It's so wonderful to hear how happy she is. I smile every time I hear from her.
Kimmy had Mo right before our Sisters Retreat. Here are some shots of our fun.
We visited Colonial Williamsburg and put on the full armor of sisterhood.
But civilization was always close at hand.
Kelly is dashing in her hard-headed-ness. :)
Wendy shared her armor with little Josh. Always thinking of the little ones.
Jordan was very excited about Halloween. He borrowed a gas mask from Mark and lit it up. He was very excited to wear it to work at the --- pharmacy! :P
Mark is doing well overseas. We miss him terribly, but loved this photo of him smiling with the 3rd Armor Cav's mascot.
Halloween! We made shattered glass cupcakes.
The "glass" was made out of sugar, and shattered beautifully!
We've enjoyed LOTS of pictures of lil Mo. He makes quite funny faces!
