Ending August

I was pleasantly surprised to see that I have only been gone for about a month! Here are some of our happenings the end of August.

I took Ben and a friend to the Great Wall Supermarket. It was fun for Ben, perhaps a bit traumatic for his friend. :) To make it "fun" I told the boys they were on a quest. They had to find a red fish and a purple fruit. Salmon and blueberries didn't count. After entering the store they soon reported there was no blue fruit. Luckily for the boys the fish counter was right beside the produce. As I shopped for veggies I passed Ben, standing, waiting beside the fish counter. "What are you doing?" I asked him. "We're getting a red snapper!" He matter of factly told me. "You're getting one?" I queried. "Yeah, they're scaling it right now. I also told them to take the guts out." Wow. That must be his Asian upbringing. I've never ordered fish from a market - much less knew how to have it prepared! Soon Ben joined me with the fish in a bag. Ben was excited to try the snapper.

Ben helped with the cooking. Actually he did all the cooking of the fish!.
He also found a novel way to open cans without a regular can opener. . .

A little bit of humor for you. It made me and Ben giggle. :)

Ben and Jordan had some major dental work done.
Jordan went to work right after the appointment. What a trooper!
Ben provided me with lots of entertainment. And drool.

I got a new mechanical body part. 1/3 of a pancreas! It's called a Continuous Glucose Monitoring System. (CGMS). It tests my blood every 5 minutes and alerts me when it's too crazy. It's helped lower my labs by almost a full point!

So you don't think I talk only of Ben - here's Jordan with crazy bed hair!
A haircut was followed days after this. Fluffy!

Ben. Again. Showing me what berries do to his hand when he's clearing bushes.
Of course, he tried to pass it off as blood at first.

Another little chuckle.

Our app hit the app store!! Not in August - but here's the icon that began the development. :)
Look for it on iTunes. "Don't Forget Your List"!
