Summer activities at home

This summer my kids got the best of both worlds. Fun whilst traveling, and fun whilst at home with no school. With the advent of being at home, with no mom (I had to work this summer), the imaginations ran wild! I was so proud!

Remember making 'forts' when we were little? I suggested it to the boys (Jordan and Ben) and they loved the idea! First they made a fort in our living room. It was pretty big. They made good use of the many bookshelves filled with books. Books were used to prop up the center pole, as well as to read inside the fort! Jordan even thought to put some "air conditioning" in the fort with an air-purifier. How thoughtful!

Living room fort Inside - notice the books?!

After a fort in our living room for a day or so, I asked the boys to move it upstairs. (It just looks nicer when guests come over!) So - they happily did so. They even cleaned up most of the books too!

Playroom fort

Of course, whenever you do something a second time there are ALWAYS improvements. This fort was MUCH roomier inside, had a TV and even CCTV! (Closed Circuit TV).

Inside fort CCTV screen - in color even!

Jordan and Ben have been making movies and finally figured out how to create a 'live feed' with the video camera. Check out the disguise for the camera.

Did you see this in the first shot of the upstairs fort? Pretty good disguise, huh!

More on our Sunday activities later!
